Khondoker Shakhawat Ali is a sociologist, researcher. He is the founder of the Knowledge Alliance and currently working as Emeritus Fellow at Unnayan Sammanny. He worked at Power and Participation Research Centre (PPRC) almost 17 years as a Research Fellow and fellow. Before that, he had worked as the Program Officer at Program for Research on Poverty Alleviation (PRPA) and Grameen Trust. He also worked for development partners such as DFID, World Bank, Sida, Swiss Embassy, Netherlands Embassy, Canadian High Commission, and International NGOs such as Action aid, Save the Children, Plan International and NETZ Bangladesh. He also worked for UN organizations, UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO. He worked at Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) on Mobile Financial Service Impact Study (2017-2018) as a Senior Sociologist. His Published books are: “Mobile Financial Service in Bangladesh Success, Prospect and Challenges” (2017) and BIDS report on MFS named “Impact of Mobile Financial Service in Bangladesh: The case of bKash” (2020). His recent book was published by Baatighar, named “Paearthaparater Anandadarshan, Kazi Rafiqul Alam 0 Dhaka Ahasania mission” (2022). Mr. Ali completed his Master’s in Sociology from Chittagong University, and he also studied in University of Wales, Swansea, UK, and International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR), Philippines.
