Symposium held on Developing the Blue Economy through sustainable marine resource management (Bangladesh) in Dhaka.

Developing the Blue Economy through sustainable marine resource management (Bangladesh) symposium held on 6-7th March at SIMEC Institute of Technology, Uttara, Dhaka. 

Ex-Principal Secretary to the HPM & Vice Chairman of iDEA Foundation Md. Abul Kalam Azad  has joined the Networking Dinner session as the Guest of Honor. 19 government officials including Additional Secretaries were the participants in the symposium. 

Honourable Chairman of SIMEC Group Engr. Sardar Md. Shaheen expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all guests for their kind presence. He specially thanked Md. Abul Kalam Azad to grace the occasion being the Guest of Honor. 

Mr. Azad said, “We, iDEA and SIMEC are doing a great job jointly in developing the Blue Economy, Sustainability, Smart Financing and Women Empowerment in Bangladesh". He advised to build a Blue Economy Network among the participants who successfully completed a course on the Blue Economy from the University of Sunshine Coast, Australia. 

Muhammad Sharifur Rahman, Consultant (SDGs), International Research Center of SIMEC Institute of Technology coordinated the whole event. He said, "The kind presence of the Chief Guest Rear Admiral (Retd)  Md. Khurshed Alam, Secretary, Maritime Affairs Unit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,  The Guest of Honor Rear Admiral (Retd) Md. Khaled Iqbal, Ex-Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, The Special guest Dr. Sacha Blumen, First Secretary, Australian High Commission of Bangladesh and Dr. Tahmina Rashid, Country Program Manager, Australia Awards-Bangladesh at the Symposium on 6th March and  Md. Abul Kalam Azad as the Guest of Honor during the Networking Dinner session on 7th March delighted our event and made the moments a wonderful memory".
